FALCON ATHLETICS
Saint Thomas Aquinas Regional Catholic High School is a college preparatory school focusing on the total development of its students. The Saint Thomas Aquinas
Athletic Department support’s the school’s mission statement by developing the “whole person in an environment of excellence.”
Saint Thomas Aquinas has 24 varsity athletic teams competing in Class 2A for district, regional, and state titles as a member of the Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA). Though NO athletic scholarships are given at STA in just 36 short years the Falcon Athletic Program has won 31 team state titles. That is a remarkable accomplishment and is a testament to the commitment, hard work and sacrifice of the students and their coaches. The students’ willingness to develop and nurture their God-given abilities is the hallmark of Falcon Athletics.
A dozen sports are available for both males and females. In addition to the varsity baseball, basketball, bowling, cross country, football, golf, power-lifting, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, track and field, and volleyball team, STA also offers junior varsity and some freshmen teams competing for the Falcons.
Falcon student-athletes are not just excelling in their co-curricular activities; they are also excelling in the classroom. More than two-thirds of these athletes have a 3.0 GPA or higher in college-prep, honors, AP, and dual enrollment classes. The vast majority are members of honors organizations on campus such as the National Beta Club and National Honors Society. STA is blessed to have caring, committed, dedicated, and professional coaches committed to the development of the whole person—spiritually, mentally, and physically while helping student-athletes reach their full potential.
